Argentina's National Atomic Energy Commission announced plans on 6 June 2025 to deploy four ACR-300 SMR modules at the Atucha nuclear site. The ACR-300 is a 300 MWe commercial-scale evolution of the CAREM SMR design. The four modules would nearly double Argentina's installed nuclear capacity.
