Amazon and Talen Energy expanded their nuclear power partnership in June 2025 to 1.9 GW from the Susquehanna nuclear power plant in Pennsylvania — building on Amazon's original campus acquisition of 960 MW from May 2024. The expanded PPA encountered regulatory challenges at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) related to transmission cost allocation, but both companies confirmed the project remains on track. The Susquehanna plant is a 2.5 GW two-unit boiling water reactor in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
