The Croatian government submitted a draft law on nuclear energy development to parliament in February 2026. Economy Minister Ante Susnjar set a goal of at least 30% nuclear in the energy mix by 2040. Croatia co-owns the Krsko NPP in Slovenia but is pursuing its own independent nuclear programme with both large reactors and SMRs being considered.
