Framatome U.S. Government Solutions received $8,800,000 from DOE on May 14, 2026 to expand its fuel fabrication facility in Richland, Washington by increasing the number of ceramic pellet production lines — adding approximately 200 metric tons of uranium of annual capacity. This is Framatome's second major US fuel investment in 2026, following the NuScale fuel expansion agreement announced in March 2026. Richland is a key US nuclear fuel fabrication hub. The expansion supports the growing US uranium fuel demand from new SMR deployments and the Framatome-NuScale exclusive fuel supply agreement.
