Sweden's Studsvik acquired Kärnfull Next AB in May 2026, expanding its activities from supporting the existing nuclear fleet to developing new nuclear projects. The combination brings together Kärnfull Next's project development expertise with Studsvik's fuel and materials testing, mission-critical software, and waste management capabilities. The acquisition coincides with the Swedish government's introduction of new financing mechanisms to support new nuclear development including SMRs.
