In August 2024, Nuclear Power Ghana and US-based Regnum Technology Group signed a commercial agreement to deploy a NuScale VOYGR-12 SMR plant. In January 2025 NuScale opened an E2 training simulator centre in Ghana — the first of its kind in Africa. In March 2025 Ghana entered further framework agreements with NuScale and Regnum with Japanese nuclear firm involvement, targeting 1 GWe of nuclear capacity by 2034.
