Nuward is EDF's flagship SMR — a 170 MWe pressurised water reactor now at Step 3 of the French ASNR regulatory review (pre-instruction stage) where ASN will deliver an opinion on main safety options. Nuward is being promoted internationally including in partnerships with Italy's Edison and ENEA for deployment, and a strategic partnership with India for joint SMR and AMR development. France's France 2030 programme allocated €1 billion for SMRs with Nuward as the primary industrial beneficiary.
