Notes

Ireland is reconsidering its nuclear ban as data centre electricity demand threatens grid stability. Ireland hosts more data centres per capita than almost any country globally, driven by US tech company European headquarters. The country currently imports electricity from the UK via interconnectors. Ireland has distanced itself from the EU nuclear declaration but parliamentary discussions on lifting the nuclear ban are increasingly common. Any SMR deployment would be a decade away at minimum.
