TerraPower began active nuclear-related construction at the Kemmerer Power Station site in Wyoming on approximately April 24, 2026 following the March 4, 2026 NRC construction permit. TerraPower CEO Chris Levesque: "We're not just breaking new ground on a first-of-a-kind nuclear plant in Wyoming; we're building the next generation of America's energy infrastructure." Non-nuclear site construction had been underway since June 2024. Wyoming granted all necessary construction and operating permits in January 2025. Target: first commercial advanced nuclear power plant in the US by 2030.
