Vietnam restarted its nuclear power programme in 2024 after an 8-year suspension. The plan envisages commissioning Ninh Thuan 1 and 2 during 2030-2035 with total capacity of 4,000-6,400 MW. An IAEA Phase 2 INIR mission was conducted in December 2025. Vietnam enacted a new Atomic Energy Law in June 2025.
