Amazon is exploring a 300 MWe SMR project with Dominion Energy in Virginia as part of its broader nuclear strategy to power AI data centres. Amazon has already secured a 1,920 MW power purchase agreement through 2042 from the Susquehanna nuclear plant in Pennsylvania and acquired Talen Energy's adjacent data centre campus for $650 million. The Virginia SMR project would be co-located with or near Dominion's nuclear operations in the state. Technology vendor has not been confirmed.
