Blue Capsule is a French nuclear startup developing a fast sodium reactor at Step 1 (prospective monitoring) of the ASNR regulatory review. The company also developed a sodium test rig to replicate fast reactor conditions. Blue Capsule is one of four companies in the initial ASNR review stage alongside Hexana, Out, and Stellaria (before Stellaria advanced to Step 2). The France 2030 programme's €1 billion SMR funding has energised France's private nuclear startup ecosystem to an unprecedented degree.
