Brookfield Asset Management and The Nuclear Company established a joint venture specialising in the development of Westinghouse nuclear reactor technology — specifically to project-manage the completion of the two V.C. Summer AP1000 units in South Carolina. The partnership offers execution capabilities for AP1000 and AP300 projects including end-to-end project management, licensing support, and oversight of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. Brookfield owns Westinghouse (with Cameco) following the 2023 acquisition — making the joint venture a vertically integrated nuclear delivery machine combining investment capital, reactor technology ownership, and project execution capability.
