GE Vernova Hitachi signed a Main Services Agreement with Swedish engineering giant AFRY on April 7, 2026 to support BWRX-300 deployment in Sweden and beyond — combining GVH reactor expertise with AFRY's regional engineering and licensing support. AFRY will support development of a licence application to Sweden's SSM (Strålsäkerhetsmyndigheten). Vattenfall confirmed in 2025 it has chosen SMRs for its new nuclear programme. The MSA aims to establish Sweden as a key hub in the BWRX-300 European supply chain. GVH CEO Jason Cooper: "Sweden has a strong industrial base and world-class engineering capabilities."
