Notes

Following the SPARC demonstration device, Commonwealth Fusion Systems plans to build the ARC commercial fusion power plant in the early 2030s. ARC is designed to generate net electricity for the grid — the first commercial fusion power plant in history. Google signed a 200 MW power purchase agreement with CFS for electricity from ARC. Eni signed a multi-year collaboration agreement with CFS in March 2023 for component procurement, authorisations for SPARC, and identification of countries to host the first ARC power plant. CFS is backed by $1.8 billion in Series B funding (November 2021). Location for ARC has not yet been publicly disclosed.
