Nevada-based Eagle Nuclear Energy announced it will conduct a 27,000-foot investigative drill programme at its flagship Aurora Uranium Project along the Oregon-Nevada border beginning in July 2026 — exploring domestic uranium resources needed for US SMR fuel supply. The Aurora project is one of a number of domestic uranium exploration programmes accelerated by President Trump's executive orders directing expansion of US uranium production. Domestic uranium supply is a strategic priority given the 2024 Congressional ban on Russian uranium imports.
