Google partnered with Elementl Power in May 2025 to fund early-stage development of three advanced nuclear energy sites across the United States — each designed to deliver a minimum of 600 MW, for a combined capacity of 1.8 GW. Elementl will evaluate technology, EPC, and project partners while prioritising specific sites for accelerated development. Google retains the option for commercial off-take once complete. With this deal, Elementl is advancing its goal of bringing more than 10 GW online by 2035. Google is backing both Kairos Power and Elementl as part of its strategy for reliable carbon-free baseload for AI data centres.
