Framatome US Government Solutions received $8.8 million in DOE funding to expand its Richland, Washington fuel fabrication facility — specifically increasing the number of ceramic pellet production lines and adding approximately 200 metric tons of uranium in annual capacity. The Richland facility will be qualified within five years to manufacture the NuFUEL-HTP2 fuel design, producing at least 444 fuel assemblies for NuScale's first US customer as early as 2030. This is the critical fuel supply chain investment enabling NuScale's first US deployments.
