Kenya's Nuclear Power and Energy Agency launched its 2023-2027 Strategic Plan guiding the development of its nuclear power programme. The plan targets construction and commissioning of the country's first nuclear power plant by 2034. Site preparations are planned to begin in 2029. Kenya is in Phase 2 of the IAEA Milestone Approach.
