In February 2025, Last Energy became the first SMR project in the UK to enter the nuclear site licensing process with the Office for Nuclear Regulation, marking the first new commercial nuclear site to enter licensing since 1978. The company secured $32 billion in commercial agreements and a $103.7 million letter of intent from the US Export-Import Bank in December 2024. Targets deployment by 2026.
