Meta's Prometheus AI supercluster in New Albany, Ohio is expected to come online in 2026 and will consume at least 1 GW of power — serving Meta's goal of building a computer superintelligence, as stated by CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a July 2025 Threads post. Prometheus is the immediate demand driver for Meta's nuclear agreements in Ohio: the Oklo 1.2 GW Aurora campus in Pike County, and the Vistra Perry and Davis-Besse PPAs. The New Albany cluster is within the PJM interconnection region. PJM has warned of a capacity shortage as early as June 2026 with annual summer peak demand growth accelerating from 0.3% (2021 forecast) to 3.6% (current 10-year projection).
