Meta announced an agreement with TerraPower on January 9, 2026 providing funding to support development of up to eight Natrium sodium fast reactors. Two new Natrium units are capable of generating up to 690 MW of firm power with delivery as early as 2032. The agreement also provides Meta with rights for energy from up to six other Natrium units capable of producing 2.1 GW targeted for delivery by 2035. Combined, this gives Meta up to 2.79 GW of TerraPower capacity. TerraPower's Natrium reactor at Kemmerer, Wyoming received its NRC construction permit on March 4, 2026 and began nuclear-related construction April 24, 2026. The Meta-TerraPower deal is the largest single corporate funding commitment for advanced fast reactor deployment globally.
