NuScale CEO John Hopkins confirmed in reporting to Reuters in May 2025 that NuScale is in talks to build SMRs with five "tier-one hyperscalers" under non-disclosure agreements — meaning five of the world's largest cloud and AI companies are in active commercial discussions with NuScale beyond the publicly disclosed Meta-Vistra, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft deals. Each six-module NuScale plant delivers 462 MWe so five hyperscaler deals each covering one plant would represent approximately 2,310 MWe of potential new commitments. Hopkins noted the uprated 77 MWe design better serves hyperscaler data centre customers.
