Holtec received $400 million in DOE federal funding in December 2025 to deploy two SMR-300 reactors at the Palisades Nuclear Generating Station site in Covert, Michigan. Holtec received NRC approval to restart Palisades in 2025. Plans innovative one-stop-shop deployment model with Hyundai Engineering & Construction as construction partner.
