The Project Pele microreactor is a 1.5 MW transportable high-temperature gas-cooled reactor developed for the US Army. Construction of the reactor core began at Idaho National Laboratory in July 2025. TRISO nuclear fuel has been fabricated and shipment to INL is pending. Expected to start electricity production in 2028.
