Alpha is Proxima Fusion's demonstration stellarator planned for construction near the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching, Germany. When operational in the 2030s, Alpha will become the first stellarator to demonstrate net energy gain (Q>1). Proxima raised 130 million euros in a Series A funding round in June 2025.
