Radiant Nuclear was selected by the DOE to conduct the first fuelled test of its Kaleidos microreactor at Idaho National Laboratory's DOME facility — scheduled to begin summer 2026 — making it the first new US microreactor test since the 1970s. Radiant received DOE selection for HALEU fuel and secured Nuclear Safety Design Agreement approval. The company has a signed deal with deposits from Equinix for 20 Kaleidos microreactors for data centre applications. A manufacturing facility is under construction on a former Manhattan Project site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
