Notes

Radiant Nuclear was selected by the DOE to conduct the first fuelled test of its Kaleidos microreactor at Idaho National Laboratory's DOME facility — scheduled to begin summer 2026 — making it the first new US microreactor test since the 1970s. Radiant received DOE selection for HALEU fuel and secured Nuclear Safety Design Agreement approval. The company has a signed deal with deposits from Equinix for 20 Kaleidos microreactors for data centre applications. A manufacturing facility is under construction on a former Manhattan Project site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Kaleidos is a 1 MW portable, trailer-sized gas-cooled microreactor designed to replace diesel generators at military bases and remote critical sites, with initial customer deployments scheduled to begin in 2028. Radiant was one of eight companies selected by the DoD Advanced Nuclear Power for Installations programme in April 2025, and the NRC accepted Radiant's 10 CFR Part 70 licence application for its R-50 microreactor production facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee in May 2026.
