Proposed fleet of 14 GE Vernova Hitachi BWRX-300 reactors (4.2 GW, about 11% of UK power demand) on three multi-unit sites, the first with six reactors, developed by SGE's UK project company. The fleet plan was first announced in July 2026 and SGE's proposal is in the Project Deep Dive under the UK's Advanced Nuclear Framework. The first unit is expected to enter commercial operation in 2034. On October 23, 2026 SGE SMR UK signed a letter of intent with Origin Nuclear (part of OPG) to form a joint venture to operate the fleet. The record date is that of the letter of intent.
