Steady Energy is commercialising the LDR-50, a 50 MWt small modular reactor designed exclusively for heat generation for district heating. Unlike most SMRs, it does not generate electricity. STUK completed a preliminary concept assessment in June 2025. The company has signed agreements for 15 reactors in Finland.
