Terrestrial Energy established partnerships with Argonne National Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory for IMSR research and development. Argonne leads US molten salt reactor safety analysis capability and IMSR fuel chemistry research. ORNL is the birthplace of the molten salt reactor concept and has deep expertise in fluoride salt reactor technology. The dual national laboratory partnerships give Terrestrial Energy access to unique federal research infrastructure and computational modelling tools unavailable in the private sector.
