TVA submitted its construction permit application to the NRC in May 2025 to build the first BWRX-300 at Clinch River in Oak Ridge, Tennessee — the first advanced SMR construction permit application filed in the United States. The NRC is currently reviewing the application. TVA's supply chain partners include Scot Forge, North American Forgemasters, BWX Technologies, and Aecon, plus Duke Energy, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, and the Electric Power Research Institute.
