Videberg Kraft selected Rolls-Royce SMR to deliver three SMRs on the Varo peninsula providing about 1,500 MWe at the Ringhals site. In December 2025, Videberg Kraft applied for state aid. The Swedish government proposed acquiring 60% stake. This will be Sweden's first new nuclear plant in over 40 years.
