Vistra's Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station in Pennsylvania — two PWR units totalling approximately 1,872 MW — is undergoing life extension as part of the Meta PPA and uprate programme. The Meta-Vistra agreements support subsequent licence renewal of an additional 20 years for all four of Vistra's PJM nuclear facilities (Perry, Davis-Besse, Beaver Valley Units 1 and 2), extending operations well into the 2040s and 2050s. This transforms what were previously plants "on a path to retirement" into long-term carbon-free assets.
