Notes

The Westinghouse eVinci microreactor uses TRISO (Tristructural Isotropic) particle fuel embedded in a graphite matrix — the same fuel type used in Kairos Power's FHR and X-energy's Xe-100. BWXT has manufactured TRISO fuel at its Lynchburg, Virginia facility for the DOD's Project Pele (delivered to INL 2025) and other programmes. The eVinci's use of TRISO fuel provides inherent passive safety: TRISO pebbles remain intact and contain radioactivity at temperatures up to 1,600°C — far exceeding any accident scenario. The eVinci's combination of TRISO fuel, heat-pipe cooling (no water needed), and factory assembly creates a uniquely transportable and safe compact reactor for military, industrial, and remote applications.
