Westinghouse teamed with UK-based CORE POWER in November 2024 to design a floating nuclear power plant using the eVinci microreactor targeting coastal and maritime energy solutions. CORE POWER is a maritime nuclear technology specialist whose floating SMR concept targets offshore platforms, island nations, and ship propulsion decarbonisation. The floating eVinci would be factory-built, barge-mounted, and deployable to remote coastal locations without conventional grid infrastructure.
