The Westinghouse eVinci is a 5 MWe nuclear battery using a passive heat-pipe cooling technology with TRISO fuel — requiring no water cooling, no active pumps, and no operator intervention to shut down safely. The reactor is factory-built and fully assembled before shipment, operable for at least eight years between refuelling, and designed for the most remote communities and industries globally. Westinghouse is one of eight companies selected under the US Department of Defense Advanced Nuclear Power for Installations (ANPI) programme with deployments targeted at select US military bases. The eVinci is also targeted at data centres, mining operations, remote industry, and military-to-civilian market transition. The compact design can be transported by truck, ship, or air.
