On September 15, 2026, the UK Government directed regulators to accept the Xe-100 into the Generic Design Assessment process, a roughly three-year design review administered by ONR, the Environment Agency, and Natural Resources Wales, expected to benefit from collaboration with the U.S. NRC on already-reviewed design documentation.
