Construction began April 2020. On 7 May 2026, the Turkish Nuclear Regulatory Authority granted permission for commissioning work to begin on Unit 2. The reactor pressure vessel was installed in September 2022. The 437-tonne turbine generator stator was installed in January 2026. Main circulation pumps were installed in April 2025. All main equipment is now in place.
