BWXT Advanced Technologies was selected as one of eight vendors for the US DoD Advanced Nuclear Power for Installations programme in April 2025. The company is developing compact microreactor designs for military base energy security building on BWXT's deep expertise as the primary manufacturer of US Navy nuclear reactors. BWXT is also a key supply chain partner for Project Pele and the Janus Programme. Military microreactor contracts represent a significant new revenue stream for BWXT beyond its traditional naval nuclear work.
