France and India established a strategic partnership to jointly develop SMRs and Advanced Modular Reactors (AMRs). France's nuclear export strategy has a strong international orientation with India as a key target given its ambition to reach 100 GW of nuclear by 2047. The partnership leverages French nuclear technology expertise including Nuward and advanced reactor designs from Framatome. India's SHANTI Bill enabling 49% FDI in nuclear JVs makes the French-Indian partnership commercially viable.
