First Pour of Concrete achieved 1 March 2026 after Atomic Energy Regulatory Board permission granted 24 February 2026. First unit targeted for criticality in approximately 60 months around 2031. Construction being executed through mega EPC packages covering excavation, nuclear island, turbine island, and nuclear instrumentation. Four steam generators manufactured by Larsen and Toubro. INR 12800 crore EPC contract awarded to Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd in April 2025. Site capacity will rise from 880 MW to 2280 MW. Part of Indias fleet mode initiative for ten 700 MW PHWRs.
