Moltex Energy is developing the Stable Salt Reactor-Wasteburner (SSR-W) in partnership with New Brunswick Power at the Point Lepreau site. The reactor is designed to use spent nuclear fuel as a primary fuel source, addressing waste concerns directly. The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission completed Phase 1 of its pre-licensing vendor design review. Supported by Canadian government funding.
