Rafferty site near Estevan, southeast Saskatchewan, selected by SaskPower for further study on 29 September 2026 as part of the province's nuclear plan, with a goal of at least 600 MW of SMR capacity. SaskPower previously selected the GE Vernova Hitachi BWRX-300 for potential deployment in the mid-2030s. Pipeline Online reports two 300 MW units on the north shore of the Rafferty Reservoir near Macoun and that the Boundary Dam site is no longer under consideration.
