Newcleo is pursuing Italian deployment of its lead-cooled fast reactor with partnerships involving EDF, Italy's Edison, and state research body ENEA for E-Factory industrial applications. Italy is reconsidering its post-Chernobyl nuclear ban. The Italian-French collaboration aims to position the LFR-AS-200 as a leading choice for European industrial decarbonisation, targeting chemical clusters, steel plants, and data centres. Newcleo has raised €535 million by 2025.
