Notes

Department of Energy programme for the Philippines' first nuclear power project. Energy Secretary Sharon Garin cited capacity of 1.2 GW by 2032, potentially 2.4 GW by 2035 and 4.8 GW by 2050 (the Philippine Energy Plan's clean energy scenario), depending partly on small modular reactor availability, at the World Nuclear Supply Chain conference in Manila on October 20, 2026. The DOE's draft nuclear capacity tender guidelines, however, stage the first tranche for 2038, with the tender targeted for June 2027 and the award in December 2027, a schedule that may still change. Site assessments, a procurement framework, policy and regulatory arrangements, financing, technology selection and workforce development are in progress; no technology, site or developer has been selected. Separate from the Meralco and KHNP evaluation projects.
