In March 2026, KHNP, Korea Eximbank, and Manila Electric Company signed a tripartite MoU for nuclear power development cooperation in the Philippines. The Philippines is targeting 1,200 MW of nuclear capacity by 2032 via SMR technology. The country signed a 123 nuclear cooperation agreement with the US and is exploring the revival of the mothballed Bataan PWR alongside new SMR deployments.
