PSEG Nuclear notified the NRC of its intent to seek subsequent licence renewals (SLRs) for Salem Generating Station Units 1 and 2 and Hope Creek Generating Station — all located on Artificial Island in Lower Alloways Creek Township, Salem County, New Jersey. PSEG plans to file the formal extension request in Q2 2027. If approved: Salem 1 extended from 2036 to 2056; Salem 2 extended from 2040 to 2060; Hope Creek extended from 2046 to 2066. Combined capacity approximately 3,550 MWe. The SLR intent was filed in advance to allow the NRC time to prepare for the review process.
