Rolls-Royce SMR and ČEZ signed an agreement in September 2025 on the potential deployment of SMRs near the Temelin nuclear power plant in South Bohemia. The Rolls-Royce SMR generates 470 MWe per unit with consistent baseload generation for at least 60 years. ČEZ already holds a 20% stake in Rolls-Royce SMR — giving it early influence over reactor design, supply chain, and deployment. A four-unit deployment near Temelin would add approximately 1,880 MW of SMR capacity alongside ČEZ's large reactor plans at Dukovany (APR-1000, KHNP contract).
