Rwanda signed an agreement with Dual Fluid Energy — a German-Canadian nuclear startup developing a dual-fluid molten salt/lead cooling reactor — alongside its agreement with NANO Nuclear Energy for microreactors. Rwanda is positioning itself as Africa's leading nuclear early adopter with agreements covering multiple technologies. Dual Fluid Energy's approach combines molten chloride salt fuel with liquid lead coolant — a novel design targeting high thermal efficiency and the ability to use thorium and nuclear waste as fuel.
